Job summary

K2 Space is seeking a Principal GNC engineer to lead spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control architecture. You will run verification and validation for the GNC stack, ensuring flight readiness through thorough analysis of nominal and off-nominal scenarios and contribute to the 6-DOF simulation updates.

In year one, you will plan tooling for GNC, support the Mega bus on-orbit demos, and help shape future missions with precise pointing, constellation development, and advanced controls

Qualifications

• Experience sizing and selecting GNC actuators or sensors.
• Experience implementing attitude control algorithms on spacecraft.
• Experience validating GNC flight software in a simulated or integrated environment.

Responsibilities

• Set direction for novel vehicle architecture with engineering leads.
• Develop algorithms for precise pointing of very large, flexible structures in orbit.
• Develop slewing algorithms for large structures in Earth orbit and beyond.
• Create simulation and modeling tools for GNC trade studies, including mission design and 6-DOF simulation development.
• Build and grow the GNC organization through recruiting, hiring, and mentoring engineers.
