Citi is seeking a Principal Generative AI Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of intelligent operations and automation platforms within the Collections technology team. This senior role sets the technical direction for generative AI solutions, from LLM orchestration and RAG pipelines to AI governance, ensuring security, compliance, and reliability in financial services.

Qualifications

10+ years in application development or engineering, with focus on AI/ML in production.
Deep expertise in LLM architectures and AI orchestration frameworks.
Hands-on experience deploying open-source LLMs and enterprise AI platforms.
Proficient Python with AI/ML libraries and API frameworks (FastAPI/Flask).
Experience implementing deterministic controls and bias/ hallucination mitigation in production AI.
Strong containerization and cloud-native delivery with CI/CD.
Background in financial services tech and data security standards.

Responsibilities

Architect end-to-end generative AI solutions for intelligent operations.
Lead engineering of LLM pipelines with fine-tuning and prompt-engineering.
Build Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines with vector databases.
Design and implement AI governance, guardrails, and safety controls.
Deploy scalable cloud-native AI infrastructure with Python, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
Ensure AI models meet risk management, auditability, and compliance standards.
Collaborate with leaders to translate business challenges into production AI solutions.
