Job summary

Dimensional Fund Advisors seeks a Principal Full-Stack Engineer to design, develop, and implement a rapidly evolving platform spanning infrastructure, data, applications, and security. You will lead technical teams, craft secure, scalable solutions, and drive automation across everything-as-code environments.

You will mentor engineers, improve architecture patterns, and shape CI/CD pipelines while collaborating with analysts, product owners, and PMs to deliver value to clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, math, computer science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of programming experience in Python (open source) or equivalent.
• 5+ years supervising other developers, reviewing and approving code changes through standard SDLC processes.
• Experience with automated acceptance testing and ability to write unit-tested, maintainable code.
• Proficiency in building RESTful APIs and web services.
• Strong understanding of cyber security risks and demonstrated ability to design and build highly secure applications.
• Significant experience working in a dynamic and interactive team environment to build world-class software implementations.
• Proven track record of delivering value and innovation through CI/CD.
• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service environment.
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies with a software development and integration focus.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver technology services in support of the technology platform.
• Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, subject matter experts, and project managers to ensure successful delivery to our customers.
• Lead technical team in design and engineering solutions.
• Participate in design to ensure modern, secure, scalable, best-practice development and operations, e.g., everything as code, zero-trust, etc.
• Critique and approve code changes for other developers.
• Mentor & develop junior engineers.
• Mature our technology processes.
• Leverage your experience as a Principal Engineer to improve our architecture patterns.
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines and develop supportable solutions.
• Improve development practices.
• Write unit/integration tests, contribute to engineering wiki, and write detailed documentation.
• Integrate platform services with existing systems such as ServiceNow.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and support for production systems.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts in a variety of areas to drive the success of our developers, business users, and clients.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and partner with technical product owners to define service roadmap.
