Job summary

Raymond James is seeking an experienced Principal Full Stack Application Developer to lead architecture, design, and development of enterprise applications and Agentic AI solutions. You will drive AI-powered workflows, mentor engineers, and collaborate across Architecture, Security, and Business teams.

The role is hybrid, with in-office presence three days per week at the St. Petersburg, FL Corporate Office.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise software applications.
• 5+ years of technical leadership experience leading development teams and enterprise software initiatives.
• Expert knowledge of Java (17+), Spring Boot, Angular (16+), RESTful APIs, and microservices.
• Strong understanding of OO programming, software architecture, design patterns, and secure coding practices.
• Experience designing scalable enterprise applications and distributed systems.
• Experience with SQL, enterprise integration patterns, messaging platforms, and API-driven architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate new technologies and recommend technical solutions that align with business objectives.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise Agentic AI solutions across the organization.
• Define technical standards and architectural patterns for intelligent agents and AI-enabled enterprise apps.
• Design agentic workflows combining business rules, integrations, retrieval, and AI reasoning.
• Evaluate, prototype, and integrate emerging AI technologies and tools to improve productivity.
• Drive adoption of AI engineering best practices, including prompt engineering and RAG concepts.
• Lead full stack development using Angular, Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and enterprise integration.
• Design reusable frameworks and platform capabilities for rapid development of intelligent agents.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, and stakeholders to identify automation opportunities.
• Mentor engineers in AI engineering techniques and enterprise software architecture.
• Lead technical design sessions, architecture reviews, and coding standards.
• Apply AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality.
• Participate in production support, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
