Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on software development with full stack experience.

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, and docs.
• Strong RESTful API development and enterprise integration with Spring Boot.
• Proven unit/automated testing, code quality tools, Git, CI/CD, and DevOps.
• Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and troubleshooting skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, MIS, Eng or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Application Developer (Fullstack) – AI Team

Location: 880 Carillon Parkway Tower 1, St. Petersburg, FL (Hybrid, Onsite 3 Days/Week)

Join Raymond James’ AI team as a Senior Full Stack Application Developer, driving the design and development of innovative Chat Bot features that integrate seamlessly across enterprise applications. This high-impact role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering, utilizing modern React and Java to deliver AI-enabled solutions in a collaborative, growth-focused environment. Local candidates only; this contract position offers the potential to convert to full-time based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement scalable, enterprise-grade full stack solutions using React 19, TypeScript, Java 17+, and Spring Boot
• Integrate Chat Bot features with agentic systems, enabling intelligent automation and seamless user experiences
• Apply AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, documentation, and delivery
• Analyze business and technical requirements to deliver secure, maintainable, and high-performance applications
• Lead technical efforts: assign tasks, review code, guide team members, and ensure project delivery
• Collaborate with architecture, product, QA, and DevOps teams to optimize solution quality and workflow efficiency
• Champion best practices in clean code, automated testing, secure coding, CI/CD, and documentation
• Mentor developers, provide technical leadership, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and team retrospectives
• Troubleshoot, resolve, and provide production support for complex application issues

Required Skills and Experience

• 7+ years of hands-on software development experience with significant full stack exposure
• Advanced proficiency in modern React (including React 19), Java 17+, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and responsive UI design
• Real-world experience with AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, debugging, and documentation
• Strong background in RESTful API development, enterprise integration, and Spring Boot or similar Java frameworks
• Proven expertise in unit testing, automated testing frameworks, code quality tools, Git, CI/CD, and DevOps practices
• Demonstrated technical leadership, collaboration, and troubleshooting skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Must be local to St. Petersburg, FL and able to work onsite 3 days per week

• Experience in financial services or regulated enterprise environments
• Background in agentic workflows, AI-enabled automation, LLM-powered applications, or intelligent developer workflows
• Microservices, event-driven architectures, messaging platforms, or distributed systems
