Job summary

UCP - Center for Disability Services in Joliet, IL seeks a School Principal to lead a nonpublic school serving students with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. You will shape the educational journey with inclusion, excellence and accountability, collaborating with districts, families and a supportive leadership team.

This role requires a Master’s in Educational Leadership, an IL Principal Endorsement (or willingness to obtain), and 5+ years working with disabilities with 2+ years of

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or related field.
• Illinois Principal Endorsement or General Administrative (or willingness to obtain).
• 5+ years working with individuals with disabilities.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience, preferably with youth and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational and administrative leadership to staff and students.
• Ensure compliance with ISBE and state/federal special education regulations.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate staff; manage hiring and onboarding.
• Oversee IEP processes and maintain high-quality instructional practices.
• Maintain partnerships with school districts and community agencies.
• Collaborate on budgets, grants, marketing, and agency events.
