Job summary

CJ Schwan's seeks a Principal Process Engineer to lead the development and commercialization of breakthrough processing technologies at the Salina, KS complex. You will drive process documentation, engage with manufacturing to realize cost savings, and collaborate across R&D and operations to define equipment specs and capital proposals.

The role requires a BS in engineering, 7+ years of experience in process equipment, and strong CAD/PFD/ROI skills.

Qualifications

B.S. in Engineering in Food, Chemical, or Mechanical engineering is required.
7+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing process equipment for food, beverage or CPG industries.
Experience in R&D product development flow from concept to launch.
Ability to create conceptual drawings with CAD and develop PFDs, cycle-time studies, and pay-back calculations.
Knowledge of ISA instrument specification formats or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Develop and commercialize breakthrough process technology and new processing equipment at CJ Schwan's Salina facility.
Lead process documentation including line visualization, PFDs, specifications, and preliminary control plans.
Collaborate with manufacturing and operations to identify and implement major cost savings and product improvements.
Work with R&D, Manufacturing, and Engineering to develop process/equipment specs for existing and new lines.
Develop, present and communicate preliminary capital proposals with ROI and capacity estimates.
Influence and obtain buy-in for new and breakthrough technologies.
