Job summary

CJ Schwan’s in Salina, KS, seeks a Principal Process Engineer to lead breakthrough process technology development for our pizza facility. You will oversee testing and development of new processing equipment, create process documentation, and collaborate with manufacturing and other R&D groups to deliver cost savings and product improvements.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Engineering (Food/Chemical/Mechanical) with 7+ years in food/CPG process equipment, CAD/ISA experience, and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering required; master's preferred.
• 7+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing process equipment within food, beverage or general CPG industries.
• Experience with process documentation such as PFDs, design matrices, and capital proposals; ISA formatting for instruments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and commercialize breakthrough process technology and equipment at the Salina, KS facility.
• Lead process documentation including PFDs, line visualization, and control plans.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and operations to identify cost savings and product improvements.
• Develop equipment specifications for existing and new lines, including changes and improvements.
• Prepare preliminary capital proposals with ROI and capacity estimates; present to leadership.
• Influence and obtain buy-in for new and breakthrough technologies.
