Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Melbourne, Florida, is seeking a Principal or Sr Principal Flight Avionics Engineer to join our avionics team onsite. You will lead integration of cockpit avionics, manage requirements and supplier interfaces, and drive system safety and verification activities in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates should have a STEM degree with significant relevant experience and an active U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of relevant military/professional experience, or
• Master’s degree in a STEM field with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year of related experience.
• Active U.S. Government Secret clearance; ability to obtain Top Secret and SAP clearances.

Responsibilities

• Integrate cockpit systems and components (FMC, PFDs, CDUs, navigation) and support trade studies.
• Develop requirements, perform analysis, maturation and implementation.
• Document designs with diagrams and specifications.
• Support verification of avionics installations and certification documents.
• Develop system safety documents and manage supplier interfaces.
• Lead technical efforts with partners and manage test activities in lab environments.
