Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Power Management Firmware development.

Principal Firmware Engineer, Power Management

The Role:
As a core member of the firmware team, you will be responsible for the architecture, design and development of Power Management solutions for the next generation of Ampere products.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop Power Management Firmware to manage power, temperature, current, frequency and voltage states.
  • Develop Power Management Firmware for PCI Express L0s, L1, L1 sub-states.
  • Develop specs and design documents as needed.
  • Pre-silicon bring-up on software simulators and HW emulation platforms.
  • Post-silicon bring up of Power Management Firmware.
  • Debug, root cause, and resolve SW bugs across multiple subsystems (firmware/OS) and drive them to a resolution.
What you'll bring:
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field & 8 years of related experience; or Master's degree & 6 years of relevant experience
  • 6+ years strong and demonstrable skills in C and ARM programming experience.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and testing methodology skills.
  • Experience with 32-bit/64-bit in ARM architectures.
  • Experience with PCI Express Gen6 protocol and power states.
  • Experience with the Zephyr kernel.
  • Experience with firmware, BIOS/UEFI, Linux, Windows software development.
  • Strong understanding of system power management.
  • Experience with hardware interfaces (SPI, I2C, DDR, PCI Express).
  • Experience using JTAG TRACE32 or OpenOCD debuggers.
  • Ability to efficiently debug, root cause, and resolve issues spanning multiple subsystems. Proven ability to own problems and drive them to a resolution.

The full base pay range for this role is between $140,500 and $234,500, except in the San Francisco Bay Area where the range is between $152,500 and $254,000.
