The Role:

As a core member of the system firmware team, you will be responsible for the architecture, design, and development of PCIe solutions for Ampere's platform. Lead the Firmware design and implementation for PCIe Gen6 controllers, PCIe power state management and the MTCP interface for the next generation of Ampere products.

The ARM server firmware/software is relatively new and you will have the opportunity to invent new software technology and influence the ARM server community.

What You Will Do:

  • Architect, design, and develop PCIe solutions for Ampere SoC products.
  • Lead, design and implement PCIe Gen6 Firmware solutions.
  • Lead, design and implement Firmware for PCI Express L0s, L1, L1 sub-states power solutions.
  • Pre-silicon bring-up on software simulators and HW emulation platforms.
  • Post-silicon bring-up from first silicon to production Firmware.
  • Debug, root cause, and resolve SW bugs across multiple subsystems (firmware/OS) and drive them to a resolution.
  • Debug, root cause complex PCIe problems using PCIe Bus Analyzers and PCIe Bus Exercisers.
  • Interact with customer/3rd party vendors to address firmware requirements
What You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field & 12 years of related experience; or Master's degree & 8 years
  • 8+ years software development with C/C++ languages, shell script, perl and python
  • 8+ years of experience with PCIe controllers, bridges, and end point devices
  • Experience with PCIe Gen6, L0p, FLIT mode and PAM4
  • Experience with PCIe Gen6 protocol and power states.
  • Experience with PCIe capabilities such as configuration, Resets, ECAM, PCIe BAR memory regions, ARI, ACS, ATS, PASID, etc.
  • Experience with PCIe PAM4 SERDES
  • Experience with PCIe Peer-to-Peer designs.
  • Experience with 32-bit/64-bit in ARM architectures.
  • Experience with the Zephyr kernel.
  • Experience with PCIe Bus Analyzers and PCIe Bus Exercisers.
What we’ll offer:

At Ampere we believe in taking care of our employees and providing a competitive total rewards package that includes base pay, bonus (i.e., variable pay tied to internal company goals), long-term incentive, and comprehensive benefits. The full base pay range for this role is between $169,500 and $282,500, except in the San Francisco Bay Area where the range is between $178,500 and $297,500.
