Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. in Magna, UT, is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Facilities Engineer to join our Space Sector team. This 100% onsite role defines the art of the possible from day one and supports capital upgrades across facilities.

The role can be filled at Level 3 or Level 4, with a 9/80 schedule and every other Friday off. Strong design and project management skills are required to help deliver complex plant systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with years of professional experience required.
• Industrial process equipment/facilities design experience preferred.
• AutoCAD drafting ability required.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects and coordinate all procurements and installation to meet cost and schedule requirements for capital upgrades.
• Provide engineering design support to Facilities Engineering, including P&IDs for chemical plant systems.
• Prepare design calculations and specifications for major plant equipment (heat exchangers, boilers, pumps).
• Develop schedules, work assignments and staffing to ensure project completion.
• Coordinate with other engineers and craftsman and review progress and results.
• Provide detailed cost estimates for project design and implementation.
• Prepare specifications for procurement of pumps, heat exchangers, valves, and other plant equipment.
• Review engineering drawings for manufacturability and functionality.
• Troubleshoot industrial mechanical equipment in the field with Maintenance staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
