Job summary

Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. is looking for a Principal Environmental/Ecological Project Manager & Office Lead to guide and manage its local environmental operations and regional needs in the Denver area.

The role focuses on the technical delivery of diverse ecological projects, including permitting, restoration, and NEPA-related work, with a requirement for field presence and national involvement on a large Ecological Team.

Qualifications

Degree in Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science or related discipline required.
15+ years of professional ecological experience with permitting and NEPA/ESA knowledge.
Proven experience leading teams and managing complex projects.
Strong knowledge of environmental laws and regulatory frameworks.
Experience with field surveys, habitat assessments, and reporting.
Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and manage subcontracts.

Responsibilities

Contribute to strategic planning and growth of ecological services.
Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the local office.
Oversee regional ecological assessments and environmental impact studies.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to staff.
Ensure on-time and within-budget project delivery.
Develop and maintain client relationships and support business development.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on infrastructure and land-use projects.
