Job summary

Jabil is seeking an Equipment Engineer/Lead to support electronics manufacturing across multiple sites, starting with Richardson, TX. You will ensure equipment meets process, quality, capacity, and production performance targets while coordinating across sites for downtime reduction and technical recovery.

You will apply advanced troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and condition-based practices, working with OEMs and internal teams to drive equipment readiness from qualification through

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent
  • Minimum 7 years of engineering experience in electronics manufacturing
  • 2+ years in a lead/technical leadership role
  • Experience with manufacturing process engineering and equipment qualification

Equipment Technical FundamentalsMechanical systems, electrical systems, electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLCs, sensors, actuators, servos, motion systems, machine controls, interfaces, and automation fundamentals required to understand and diagnose manufacturing equipment.3. Maintenance & Reliability EngineeringTPM, Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, Condition-Based Maintenance, equipment calibration, equipment baselines, wear limits, equipment condition control, maintenance standards, maintenance frequencies, and reliability practices.4. Equipment Troubleshooting & RecoveryAdvanced troubleshooting, equipment diagnostics, failure analysis, root-cause identification, equipment repair, restoration, technical escalation, diagnostic tools, critical spare parts, technical documentation, OEM/vendor technical support, and equipment recovery.5. Equipment Industrialization & LifecycleEquipment technical requirements, equipment selection, installation, Facilities integration, utilities requirements, equipment qualification, capability validation, capacity verification, technical acceptance, setup, model changeover, production readiness, ramp-up, and equipment lifecycle considerations.6. Equipment Performance & AnalyticsOEE, MTBF, MTTR, downtime, breakdown rate, availability, equipment performance, reliability metrics, data analysis, loss analysis, trend analysis, condition monitoring, creation of new equipment metrics, and development of monitoring systems when existing metrics are insufficient.7. Equipment Technical LeadershipAdvanced regional technical support, technical direction, coordination across sites, technical standards, knowledge transfer, coaching, equipment-specific qualification, OEM/supplier technical coordination, escalation management, and deployment of technical knowledge and solutions across multiple sites.Preferred Qualifications:· NPI & Industrialization: Experience supporting equipment selection, installation, qualification, manufacturing readiness, ramp-up, and stable production.· Equipment Excellence: Experience implementing TPM, preventive and predictive maintenance, equipment condition control, reliability improvement, and equipment performance systems.· Manufacturing Excellence: Experience improving equipment utilization, cycle time, changeover, productivity, capacity, and manufacturing efficiency.· Advanced Technology: Experience deploying equipment automation, Digital Factory, condition monitoring, predictive technologies, and equipment analytics solutions.· Facilities & Equipment Integration: Experience coordinating equipment installations with Facilities, including utilities, infrastructure requirements, equipment layout, and installation readiness.· Regional Deployment: Experience developing, standardizing, and replicating equipment engineering solutions and practices across multiple manufacturing sites.· Business & Margin: Proven experience delivering measurable improvements in OEE, uptime, MTBF, MTTR, downtime, productivity, capacity, cost, and margin.· Technical Ecosystem: Experience working with equipment OEMs, suppliers, Facilities, Operations, Process Engineering, customers, and technology partners to resolve equipment challenges and deploy solutions.· Technical Leadership: Experience developing, mentoring, and transferring technical knowledge to Equipment Engineers, Technicians, and technical experts.The pay range for this role is $156,400 - $281,500.
