Job Overview

Principal Engineer Systems – IPT Lead

Location: Linthicum, MD

Relocation assistance may be available.

Travel: Yes, approximately 10% of the time.

Clearance: Secret clearance required at the start. Ability to maintain or obtain an SAP clearance is required.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead an engineering team transitioning designs to production for a high‑visibility program with time‑critical elements.
• Interface with Engineering & Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance.
• Brief internal and potentially external customer leadership on progress.
• Perform in a fast‑paced work environment with high expectations, diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings.
• Maintain self‑motivation, organization, detail orientation, and effective verbal and written communication skills.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM‑related discipline with at least 5 years of industry experience, or a master’s degree with at least 3 years of industry experience (with a BS in STEM).
• Alternatively, 4 additional years of experience can substitute a degree.
• Current/active Secret clearance at the time of hire.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an SAP clearance for continued employment.
• General knowledge of test equipment design and manufacturing.
• At least one year of experience as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead or equivalent, including project planning, cost and schedule management, team tasking, leadership, and status reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience moving hardware through the BWI factory and test.
• Experience reporting project status to program, functional management, and customers.
• Knowledge of the Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
• Experience driving recovery through development and execution of return‑to‑green plans.
• Knowledge of risk and opportunity management.
• PMP certification (a plus).
• Current Top Secret clearance (a plus).

Salary and Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800 – $163,200.

Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long‑Term Incentives.
