Job description

Responsibilities

• Deploy, automate, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve systems and software infrastructure.
• Design and implement application builds, releases, deployments, and configuration activities within an agile development process.
• Gather requirements from internal business partners, prototype, and architect complex solutions that support build and test plans.
• Perform quality reviews, triage, and resolve operational issues; integrate, test, and validate software changes.
• Run the E‑2 software and communicate issues to the Melbourne team during travel.
• Serve as the interface between systems analysts/programmers and users to ensure IT designs meet end‑user needs.
• Document product/service requirements and develop test procedures to ensure user requests are carried out.
• Interact with Program Management and/or government customers; provide excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of software engineering experience OR Master’s degree with 3+ years (Principal Engineer);
• For Senior Principal Engineer: Bachelor’s with 8+ years OR Master’s with 6+ years of experience.
• Development experience in Linux and Windows environments, debugging in both desktop and target systems, and system testing.
• Experience with Agile software development.
• Proficiency in C/C++ or other object‑oriented programming languages; solid experience in bash scripting.
• Deep understanding of the software development life cycle and automated testing.
• US citizenship, eligibility for a DoD Secret level security clearance, and ability to obtain and maintain special program access.
