Job summary

Tetrad Digital Integrity (TDI) seeks a Principal Engineer / Technical Lead to support the CESO in Arlington, VA. This onsite role focuses on migrating to a high-security cloud, building secure web services, APIs, data pipelines, and modern database architectures.

Qualified candidates have 12+ years in software engineering, active TS/SCI clearance, and experience across Oracle, SQL Server, cloud technologies, CI/CD, and DevSecOps practices. Expect senior leadership and cross‑team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• BA and 12+ years of experience; higher years may substitute for degree.
• Proven leadership of multiple teams and delivery of complex software systems.
• Strong documentation, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• 10+ years hands-on experience in Oracle, SQL Server, Java, cloud, data integration, or DevSecOps.
• Experience with Jira or similar agile project management tools.
• Experience with Gradle, PowerShell, Java Full Stack, Oracle 19c, Apache HTTP, Tomcat, Webservices.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and architect the database architecture to support modernization initiatives.
• Translate mission outcomes and prioritized backlog items into technical delivery plans and sprints.
• Develop, maintain, and evolve database architecture aligned to modernization and cloud adoption.
• Design, implement, and test database architectures for scalability, resilience, security, and performance.
• Re-engineer legacy databases to modernized architectures across on‑premises and cloud.
• Gather, define, and refine database and reporting requirements for users.
• Maintain enterprise architecture docs, data models, SOPs, and installation guides.
• Lead development and integration of secure APIs and data pipelines (structured/unstructured).
• Develop automated CI/CD build/deployment pipelines using Ansible and Bitbucket/Gitlab.
• Implement DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, observability, and security controls.
• Oversee release management through full software lifecycle and ensure reliability of builds.
• Define and drive long-term technical strategy across teams.
• Oversee scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions; act as senior technical authority.
