Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) seeks a Principal Engineer to support the Naval Sea Systems Command in the development, testing, and fielding of shipboard HPM weapon systems.

You will brief senior government personnel and translate S&T research into practical Navy programs from DC or Dahlgren, VA. You will coordinate with engineering, testing, and contract teams, provide expert judgement on design and implementation, and ensure program success.

Qualifications

  • MS degree in engineering, science, or technical discipline.
  • 15 years of experience in developing, designing, integrating, and testing HPM or pulsed power systems.
  • Experience in HPM weapon effects or electromagnetic interference analysis.
  • 10 years directing engineering activities for engineering support contracts and complex DE systems.
  • 10 years in RF sensors, HPM systems, image/signal processing, modeling and simulation.
  • 10 years of Navy or Armed Services weapon or warfare systems R&D.
  • DoD Top Secret clearance with ability to receive TS/SCI and maintain clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide SME support to Naval Sea Systems Command.
  • As Principal Engineer, support development, testing, and fielding of shipboard HPM systems.
  • Keep leadership current with latest developments in HPM S&T and applicable DE weapon missions.
  • Represent the program to S&T communities and analyze applicability of research for Navy programs.

Education

Master of Science (MS) in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline
