Bloom Energy in San Jose, CA is seeking a Principal Software Engineer, Middleware & Data to join our on-site team and drive backend and data‑flow innovations for mission‑critical systems.

You will design and implement high‑performance components in Rust or Go, build middleware and integrations, debug across service boundaries, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to evolve architecture while following disciplined SDLC practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of programming experience with Rust, Go, or other compiled languages.
• Strong debugging skills across application layers, integrations, and data pipelines.
• Solid understanding of middleware, databases (SQL/NoSQL/time-series), OLAP workloads, streaming systems, and distributed data flow.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-performance backend and systems components using Rust or Go.
• Debug complex issues across service boundaries, integrations, and data paths.
• Build and maintain middleware components and service-to-service integrations.
• Work with relational, NoSQL, and time-series databases and OLAP query patterns.
• Address streaming data, ordering, backpressure, and throughput optimization.
• Follow disciplined SDLC practices including code reviews, testing, and CI workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on architecture and system evolution.
