Job summary

Orenda Inc. is seeking a Principal Engineer to set and elevate engineering standards for its NYC energy storage portfolio. You will guide external partners, author specifications, and ensure designs meet Orenda's standards and codes.

You will lead technical reviews, mentor engineers, and coordinate with internal teams and EMS to align field systems with the platform. This role requires deep electrical expertise and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and NY PE license are required.
• 10+ years designing MW-scale power generation or electrical infrastructure.
• Strong cross-discipline coordination across civil, structural, mechanical, controls.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain engineering standards and technical specifications for NYC energy storage portfolio.
• Author specifications for engineering partners and equipment selection.
• Ensure design compliance and identify technical risks early in the design process.
• Provide mentorship and technical direction to partners and internal staff.
• Coordinate with EMS team to integrate SCADA and controls requirements.
• Support procurement with technical evaluation of OEM capabilities.
