Job summary
ROCHESTER GAS & ELEC CORP is seeking a Principal Engineer - Distribution Planning to independently lead and perform highly complex distribution system studies, including voltage, thermal, N-1, reliability, resiliency, and power quality assessments in Rochester, NY. Qualifications
- Lead complex distribution planning studies and capital planning.
Responsibilities
- Lead highly complex distribution system studies including voltage, thermal, N-1, reliability and power quality assessments.
- Serve as a technical authority in Distribution Planning and provide expert guidance on system design and DER interconnections.
- Lead development and execution of planning studies and 10-year capital plans, identifying deficiencies and proposing cost-effective solutions.
- Mentor engineers, drive cross-functional initiatives, and influence stakeholders including regulators and industry forums.
- Represent the organization in industry groups and support regulatory proceedings with expert analysis and testimony.
- Support storm restoration efforts and stand in for the Manager when needed.
