Job summary

Skipton Building Society is seeking a Principal Engineer for the Digital Experience Platform (DEP). You will set engineering tenets, drive patterns across AEM, Java, React and .NET, and partner with Architecture, DevSecOps and QE to deliver small, safe changes weekly.

You’ll lead and coach a cohort of engineers, raise the hiring bar and cultivate a high‑performance culture. You will shape the Golden Path for DEP, implement secure-by-design pipelines, VFQ focused delivery, and maximise Design

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in high-performance delivery (VFQ excellence).
• Deep craft in modern, cloud-native engineering with AEMaaCS.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading Communities of Practice.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction, engineering tenets and paved roads for DEP.
• Design and evolve the Golden Path for DEP: secure-by-default CI/CD pipelines and environments.
• Own engineering strategy to maximise platform capabilities and align teams on tenets.
• Coach senior engineers, lead Communities of Practice and raise the hiring bar.
