Job summary

Google Cloud is seeking a Principal Engineer to shape the technical outlook and strategy for the Cloud Surfaces team, focusing on platform acceleration and AI-native experiences across web and mobile. You will mentor tech leads and collaborate with product teams to translate constraints into robust designs and implementations.

You will partner with stakeholders across Google Cloud to drive multi-year roadmaps, architecture, and reusable platform components, enabling scalable, enterprise-grade

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of experience as a Software Engineering leader with experience in full stack web development.
• Experience in web, mobile, and SDK/CLI development.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional leadership to align on a multi-year roadmap for Cloud Surfaces experiences.
• Create scalable, reliable, secure designs enabling internal platform stakeholders to build on the platform, including AI-powered UI experiences on web and mobile; accelerate SDK and CLI development.
• Mentor senior tech leaders and foster a culture of engineering and collaboration across teams.
• Act as a technical bridge across product boundaries to align engineering teams behind a shared strategy for long-term innovation and near-term execution.
