Job summary

Google is seeking a Principal Engineer for Google Compute Platform Security to own the end-to-end security posture of GCE. You will lead across the control and data planes, architecting defenses, defining security strategy, and guiding hardware- and software-level isolation.

The role focuses on staying ahead of AI/LLM-enabled threats and advancing zero-trust architectures. You will influence global infrastructure security, collaborating with cross-organizational teams to secure hypervisors,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
15 years of professional software development experience, or 13 years with an advanced degree.
Experience architecting, developing, and securing low-level systems software across virtualization and OS stack.

Responsibilities

Serve as the premier technical authority for GCE Platform Security.
Architect robust defenses for multi-tenant orchestration and zero-trust boundaries.
Lead security architecture across hypervisors, VMMs, host OS, kernel subsystems, and hardware isolation.
Address emergent threats including AI/LLM-accelerated vulnerability discovery and tooling.
