Job summary

Google in Irvine is seeking a Principal Engineer for the Insights pillar to lead agentic data analysis. You will guide multiple teams, shape the technical vision, and develop foundational technologies across Google-wide languages and APIs.

You will bridge internal systems with external standards and mentor senior ICs, advancing a transition to AI-driven development models and enterprise-grade platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.
• 15 years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience as senior technical leader overseeing portfolios and multiple teams.
• Experience in architectural design and systems integration for enterprise-grade platforms.

Responsibilities

• Redefine data analysis architecture across harnesses.
• Guide Core, Cloud, and GDM teams toward enterprise-wide coherence.
• Lead development of agentic tools and foundational technologies for Google-wide languages and systems.
• Bridge internal systems with external standards (ANSI SQL).
• Mentor staff engineers and drive AI-driven development models.
