Job summary

Pacer Group seeks an experienced Principal Engineer 3 to support technical basis research and review of engineering analyses for the Vogtle EPU project, split approximately 50/50 between document research and report review. The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to interpret complex plant documentation related to performance upgrades.

This onsite contract role in Waynesboro, GA pays $55–$66 per hour (W2) and may use AI-assisted tools

Qualifications

• Engineering degree from an accredited institution or 5+ years engineering experience in lieu.
• Strong technical research and analytical capabilities.
• Experience reviewing engineering documentation, technical reports, calculations, or analysis.
• Ability to interpret and summarize complex technical information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and retrieve information from Plant Vogtle technical basis documents.
• Review original and updated plant technical analyses, engineering calculations, and modification design packages.
• Prepare and submit technical research summaries for review and approval.
• Perform technical reviews of engineering analysis reports prepared by other team members.
• Provide detailed technical feedback on analysis reports evaluating various aspects of plant performance upgrades.
• Evaluate technical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Utilize AI-assisted search capabilities to support technical research and information retrieval.

Position Overview

The Vogtle EPU team is seeking an experienced Principal Engineer 3 to support technical basis research and technical report reviews. This position will have dual responsibilities, with approximately 50% of the time dedicated to researching and retrieving technical information from Plant Vogtle technical basis documents and the remaining 50% focused on reviewing technical analysis reports prepared by other engineering professionals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, excellent technical research and analytical skills, and the ability to review complex engineering documentation related to plant performance upgrades.

Required Qualifications

• Engineering degree from an accredited institution.
• Alternatively, a minimum of 5 years of direct relevant engineering experience may be considered in lieu of an engineering degree.
• Strong technical research and analytical capabilities.
• Experience reviewing engineering documentation, technical reports, calculations, or analysis.
• Ability to interpret and summarize complex technical information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in the nuclear power generation or energy industry.
• Familiarity with nuclear power plant technical basis documents.
• Experience with engineering calculations and technical analysis.
• Knowledge of plant modifications and design engineering packages.
• Experience preparing or reviewing technical reports.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted technical research tools.
