We are seeking a Principal Engineer with over 20 years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing complex, large-scale IT infrastructures and networks. This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and leadership to drive innovation, resilience, and scalability across our technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and evolution of enterprise infrastructure and network systems across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments.
• Serve as a technical authority on infrastructure modernization, network security, and high-availability systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, especially the Systems Architect and Director of Infrastructure to align infrastructure strategy with business goals.
• Mentor specialists, administrators and engineers and contribute to the development of engineering best practices.
• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to improve performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Oversee incident response, root cause analysis, and long-term remediation planning.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  
  
  

Education

• Bachelor’s degree (4 year) in a relevant field such as Information Management Systems, Computer Science, IT, or Engineering. Educational equivalent to 4+ years with additional matching factors of lesser degrees, training, and certificates may be counted toward education.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development, including completion of advanced technical certifications and participation in industry forums, is expected.
  
  
  

Skills And Experience

• 20+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure and network engineering.
• Proven leadership in designing and managing:
• Data centers
• Enterprise networks (LAN/WAN/SD-WAN)
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Storage and backup systems
• Disaster recovery and business continuity
• Deep understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Technical knowledge of network, server, and desktop systems.
• Technical knowledge of authentication protocols and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of Zero Trust Architecture and secure access service edge (SASE).
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Splunk, Grafana).
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, CMMC, HIPAA).
• Proven track record of leading projects with cross-functional teams and mentoring engineers.
• Ability to translate complex engineering concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to align technology with business goals.
• Ability to work independently, within a team, and lead as necessary.
• Demonstrated experience in vendor management and contract negotiations.
