Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Sector is seeking a Principal/Engineer Energetics Manufacturing (Level 2 or 3) for Promontory, Utah. This on-site role supports the Facilities Mechanical Engineering Department, leading mechanical design, piping, and equipment specifications for capital upgrades.

The candidate will manage projects, coordinate procurements, and design against codes while collaborating with engineers and maintenance craftspeople. U.S. government clearance is required for some postings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 2+ years of Facilities Engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Industrial mechanical design and process equipment experience.
• AutoCAD drafting ability.
• Ability to work in the field, climb ladders, and work outside in congested areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design to support Facilities Mechanical Engineering.
• Manage projects and procurements to meet cost and schedule targets.
• Design P&IDs for chemical plant systems and prepare equipment specs.
• Prepare design calculations for major equipment and systems.
• Check designs against codes and standards and develop schedules.
• Coordinate with engineers and craftsmen and review progress.
• Provide detailed cost estimates and procurement specifications.
• Review drawings for manufacturability and troubleshoot field issues.
