Job summary

Trident Systems seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead embedded hardware for space and defense applications, guiding requirements through design, integration, and delivery.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure performance, reliability, and radiation mitigation, leveraging FPGA and microprocessor development, PCIe standards, and high-speed circuitry.

This senior role includes mentoring staff, supporting program execution and business development, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related technical degree.
• 9+ years with a Bachelor’s degree or 7+ years with a Master’s degree.
• Experience with mixed-signal PCA development and HDI PCBs.
• Experience with FPGA and microprocessor development and Verilog/VHDL.
• Experience with hardware integration, test, and debugging tools like logic analyzers and scopes.
• Experience implementing PCI/PCIe/cPCI/VME/VPX standards (VITA 46/65).

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering discipline personnel.
• Subject matter expert for embedded hardware engineering.
• Lead embedded hardware development process across the lifecycle.
• Conduct peer reviews of design work and documentation.
• Provide technical guidance to teams and leadership.
• Support project execution based on resource demand and design challenges.
• Cost Account Management.
• Support business development efforts.
• Represent engineering with customers and vendors as SME.
• Support ES technology roadmap and travel as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
