Job summary

Lynx Software Technologies, Inc. in Palmdale, CA is seeking a Principal Software Engineer (Autonomous Systems) to lead development of embedded software for autonomous flight, collaborating with multi-site teams and supporting DoD-classified programs.

The role requires 8+ years in C/C++, Python, and Java, experience with ArduPilot or PX4, UAS operations, Git, Linux/Windows, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance; travel up to 25% and flexible location between Fort Worth or Palmdale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, or related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of strong software development experience using C, C++, Java, Python, and Bash for embedded systems, automation, testing, and application development.
• Experience developing and configuring autonomous flight systems using ArduPilot and/or PX4 flight controllers.
• Experience with UAS/UAV or RC aircraft operations, integration, and troubleshooting.
• Proficient with Git for source control, branching strategies, code reviews, and collaborative software development.
• Understanding robotics, autonomous systems, flight software, sensor integration, and embedded system design.
• Proficient with Linux and Windows development environments.
• Ability to obtain Secret DoD security clearance
• 25% travel
