Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to perform duties at a work center with an emphasis on communications products. The primary work product is the complete digital design of a PCB (Printed Wiring Board) from inception through layout and assembly.

The successful candidate must operate with the highest level of personal integrity, adapt to rapidly changing circumstances, and adhere to accepted processes to ensure successful completion of projects. Other desirable attributes include being able to work under own initiative, be calm under pressure and responsive to change with a logical approach to technical problem resolution and decision making.

What You Will Do

1. Design Digital Circuit Cards from inception through layout and assembly
2. Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure requirements are met at every level of design
3. Work with ECAD designers to generate full Databases and Drawings to build PWB/CCAs
4. Perform Design Analyses (Timing, Power, Signal Integrity)
5. Perform Design Verification and Troubleshooting
6. Produce and Present Design Documentation

Qualifications You Must Have

1. Ability to take a design concept from requirements to CCA development
2. Experience with printed circuit board (PCB) design process and expertise in full suite of design tools
3. Proficient in Design Verification/Analysis – Timing/Power/Signal Integrity analysis, bench-level testing, troubleshooting, and test results analysis
4. Able to conduct Trade Studies and produce comprehensive Design Documentation including Test Requirements & Design Memos
5. Ability to coordinate with other disciplines and communicate effectively to ensure product success is a must
6. Minimum 5 years of experience as an electrical engineer developing digital/mixed signal high speed Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA)
7. Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
8. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
9. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

1. Proficiency with Siemen's Xpedition Design Tools is preferred
2. Understanding of IPC Standards for PCB Design and Fabrication
3. Understanding of IEEE, MIL standards
4. Adept at using the Microsoft Tool Suite
5. Proficiency with analog and mixed‐signal circuits

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
