Job summary

Acara Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer (Mixed-Signal & Analog) in Cypress, CA. The role focuses on architecture, design, implementation, and integration of high-reliability mixed-signal and analog circuitry for aerospace and defense applications.

You will lead schematic capture, PCB layout oversight, and comprehensive simulations while maintaining high-quality documentation and supplier evaluations. A DoD/space background is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Min. 10 years in mixed-signal and analog circuit design (space/DoD or commercial).
• Min. 10 years designing with op-amps, ADCs/DACs, LDOs, switching regulators and motor drivers.

Responsibilities

• Define, architect, design, implement, and integrate mixed-signal and analog circuits for high-reliability electronics.
• Develop low-noise analog circuits and quiet power supplies for imaging sensors.
• Perform schematic capture and oversee PCB layout activities (Cadence Allegro preferred).
• Conduct circuit- and board-level simulations to verify performance.
• Debug and integrate hardware using oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, and other lab equipment.
• Create technical documentation including board specifications, user guides, test reports, and design review presentations.

What You'll Do:

Job Requirements

What you'll bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 10 years of experience working in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in mixed-signal and analog circuit analysis and design (including Space - DoD or Commercial experience).
• Minimum 10 years of experience completing mixed-signal and analog designs, using ICs such as Op-Amps, ADC, DAC, LDO, switching regulators, and motor drivers.
• Minimum 10 years of experience the design and troubleshooting of high-speed video applications.

What sets you apart:

• An active Secret or Top Secret clearance
• Minimum 15 years of experience working in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in analog circuit design
• Proficient in the design and analysis of electronics for space applications
• Hands-on experience in EO/IR technology and cryogenic systems
• Familiarity with DoD, NASA, and relevant industry standards
• Ability to solve problems at circuit and system levels
• Ability to execute large group and customer presentations
