RTX in Goleta is seeking an on-site Electrical Engineer to join the Hardware/Firmware Engineering team. You will perform requirements analysis, decomposition, and subsystem design for complex airborne, naval, and land-based military systems.

Responsibilities include digital design, embedded systems, FPGA development, and rigorous verification. A STEM degree with 8+ years’ experience and DoD clearance are required to qualify for this role.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance are required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform requirements analysis and decomposition for hardware and firmware.
  • Design, model, simulate, and verify sub-systems.
  • Develop new products based on customer descriptions and specs.
  • Collaborate in integrated product teams to design, develop, and manufacture complex systems for military applications.
  • Engage in detailed digital design, embedded systems, and FPGA development.

What You Will Do
  • This position is for an electrical engineer to work in the Hardware/Firmware Engineering Department at the Electronic Warfare Systems of Raytheon.
  • Be responsible for requirements analysis and decomposition, sub-system design, modeling, simulation, and design verification test.
  • Work on new product development based on descriptions and specifications provided by our customers.
  • Work in integrated product teams to design, develop, and manufacture complex state-of-the-art systems for airborne, naval, and land-based military applications.
  • Activities include detailed digital design, embedded systems, and FPGA development.
  • Specific tasks include circuit analysis, circuit simulation, FPGA programming, design documentation, design verification and testing, and integration of hardware and software at the level of electronic components and circuit boards.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Digital Signal Processing.
  • Intel/Altera and/or AMD/Xilinx FPGAs.
  • Designing in Matlab/Simulink with DSP Builder and HDL Coder blocksets.
  • Digital hardware design and firmware integration.
Qualification We Prefer
  • Experience with AMD/Xilinx, Intel/Altera, or Microsemi FPGAs.
  • Experience with High Level Modeling tools and languages such as SystemVerilog or HDL Coder.
  • Experience in embedded electronics, VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog, Schematic capture, signal processing, RF, FPGA.

The salary range for this role is 118,300 USD - 224,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
