Job summary

Freeport LNG in Houston, TX seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer for the Capital Projects Team. You will lead QA/QC for engineering deliverables from Detailed Design through Commissioning and Startup, ensuring electrical systems meet contract, regulatory, and industry standards, and coordinating with EPC and Operations.

The role requires expertise in HV/MV power systems, power system modeling, protection schemes, harmonics, and experience with ETAP, VFDs, GIS, and essential generators.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Electrical Engineering.
• 15+ years of experience with HV/MV power systems, HV cables, and protective relays.
• Proven ability to lead QA/QC across EPC interfaces and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Review and comment on Specifications and Data Sheets.
• Review and comment on Detailed Design Deliverables.
• Review and comment on Procurement Packages.
• Review and comment on Supplier Document Deliverables.
• Participate in Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) and FATs of Electrical Systems.
• Coordinate engineering interfaces between Electrical and other disciplines.
