Job summary

Tighe & Bond’s Building Services team in the Northeast seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to drive design for major building and campus projects. You will lead electrical design from planning through construction, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and provide technical direction across complex facilities in the Northeast.

You will mentor engineers, engage with clients, support proposals and staffing, and help grow the electrical practice within New England.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field.
• Professional Engineer license is required.
• 15+ years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in consulting/AEC.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, switchgear, transformers, and medium-voltage systems.
• Experience leading electrical design for buildings and complex facilities.
• Strong communication with clients, owners, and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for multidisciplinary design teams from concept to construction.
• Lead electrical engineering design, planning studies, and commissioning support.
• Serve as Engineer of Record for electrical projects and develop design narratives.
• Mentor engineers and designers through technical guidance and reviews.
• Support project delivery across design-bid-build, design-build, and phased renovations.
• Collaborate with mechanical, fire protection, structural, and architectural teams.
