Collins Aerospace is seeking a talented Principal Electrical Engineer on our Avionics Test Engineering team.

Test Engineering will offer you the opportunity to work with an array of innovative test equipment solutions for Collins Aerospace products and programs. Your work will serve internal customers, including our manufacturing and service centers, as well as external customers, domestic and international.

As a Test Engineering Principal Electrical Engineer, you will heavily utilize hardware/software development and debug skills on multi-rack automated test stations. Typical test stations include components such as switch systems, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, and other RF or digital-related equipment.

What You Will Do:

  • Analyze requirements for hardware design and develop test solutions to meet those requirements.
  • Troubleshoot issues with hardware designs.
  • Review existing hardware drawings and create new hardware documents.
  • Integrate a full test solution and verify test results are accurate, repeatable, and reliable.
  • Manage configuration for hardware and all related documentation.
  • 5-10% domestic travel as needed.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Design experience with circuit cards.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in PWB design.
  • Knowledgeable in RF technology.
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
