Job summary

Astronics AES in Kirkland, WA seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the design of aerospace-grade power supplies and USB outlets for commercial aircraft. You will guide the team through product certification, using resonant converters and digitally controlled power supplies.

Responsibilities include defining architectures, performing simulations, writing design documentation, and presenting analyses to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
• 12+ years of relevant electrical design experience, with power supply/power conversion background.
• Experience designing to aerospace requirements (DO-160) including Airbus/Boeing specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of aerospace-grade power supplies and USB outlet units from concept to certification.
• Develop high-quality electrical design documentation for development, test, and certification.
• Perform simulations and trade studies to optimize performance, reliability, and cost.
• Lead and mentor the EE team to achieve DO-160 and aerospace certs.
