Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Roy, UT seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer for the Flight Systems Futures team to drive design, development, procurement, manufacturing, integration and test of advanced flight systems.

You will develop functional block diagrams, capture schematics, run PSPICE simulations and create electrical requirements while collaborating with system engineers to ensure full system compliance.

Qualifications

Job Overview

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer for the Flight Systems Futures team located in Roy, UT. The role focuses on the design, development, procurement, manufacturing, integration, and test of novel flight systems across a broad spectrum of applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop functional block diagrams (Visio preferred)
• Capture schematics (Altium preferred)
• Perform PSPICE electrical simulation
• Develop electrical requirements and assist system engineers
• Conduct electrical analysis to ensure compliance with requirements
• Generate electrical interface control documents
• Design electrical system architecture, including grounding, power distribution, communication buses, and discrete signaling

Basic Qualifications

• 5 years of experience combined with a Bachelor of Science; 3 years with a Master of Science; 1 year with a Ph.D.
• Active or current Secret clearance at time of application
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time
• Electrical design experience for hypersonic systems, flight systems, missiles, and related platforms

• Responsible Engineer (RE) for electronics subsystems
• Management of third‑party contractors and vendors

Additional Information

This position is contingent upon contract award. The standard work schedule is 9/80. The role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Primary level salary range: $98,400.00 – $147,600.00. Salary may vary based on experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and in some cases, long‑term incentives.
