Job summary

NPAworldwide in New York is seeking a senior hardware engineer to lead the analog and digital design for harsh-environment products across requirements, architecture, qualification, production and sustainment. The role demands deep expertise in power electronics (MOSFET/IGBT/SiC/GaN), MIL-STD-1275/704, DO-160 and MIL-STD-461, plus PWB layout, thermal and EMI analyses.

You will mentor engineers and contribute to proposals. Candidates should have 15+ years of experience, a B.S.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering required; M.S. preferred.
  • 15+ years of analog and digital circuit design experience.
  • Strong background in power electronics (MOSFET/IGBT/SiC/GaN).
  • Experience with MIL-STD-1275/704, DO-160, MIL-STD-461.
  • Thermal, electrical stress, EMI analyses and radiation (SEU/TID) knowledge.

  • Experience with DC/DC converters and compliance with MIL-STD-1275/704, DO-160, and MIL-STD-461.
  • Expertise in thermal, electrical stress, worst‑case, tolerance, aging, FMEA, EMI, and radiation (SEU, TID) analyses.
  • Proficient in PWB layout for high‑power, high‑voltage, and EMI‑compliant designs.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols: CAN, RS-232/422/485, SPI, JTAG, PCI/PCIe, and 1G/10G Ethernet.
  • Experience with motor control, control theory, Z-domain analysis, Clark and Park transforms, and sensor interfaces (LVDT, resolvers, encoders).
  • Proficiency with CAD and simulation tools such as LT-Spice, P-Spice, OrCAD, Allegro, and MATLAB/Simulink.
