Reading, PA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer (PE) to lead and execute electrical engineering projects by providing innovative, code-compliant design solutions while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Essential Duties
- Deliver electrical engineering services that meet project requirements, applicable codes, regulatory standards, and quality expectations while maintaining schedule and budget objectives.
- Initiate, manage, and oversee electrical engineering activities throughout all phases of project execution.
- Prepare and review electrical engineering calculations, designs, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Participate in project meetings, provide progress updates, and follow established quality assurance and checking procedures.
- Ensure project scope is clearly defined and manage scope changes in accordance with project change management procedures.
- Provide engineering support during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, including:
- Preparing equipment requisitions
- Conducting technical bid evaluations
- Reviewing vendor documentation
- Preparing purchase order technical documentation
- Serve as the Lead Electrical Engineer on assigned projects when required.
- Coordinate and supervise engineering activities for assigned project teams, including task delegation, workshare coordination, and progress monitoring.
- Ensure engineering deliverables comply with company standards, client requirements, and applicable regulatory codes.
- Identify and resolve technical issues while coordinating solutions with clients, project teams, and other engineering disciplines.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, emerging technologies, and engineering best practices.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers as needed.
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Support project estimating efforts, proposal development, and technical documentation as required.
Requirements / Skills
- Professional experience in electrical engineering within industrial, utility, energy, or similar engineering environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering projects and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience preparing project cost estimates and contributing technical content for proposals.
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design practices, and applicable engineering methodologies.
- Working knowledge of related engineering disciplines and multidisciplinary project coordination.
- Thorough understanding of applicable local, national, and international electrical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency with electrical engineering software and analysis tools.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality, accuracy, and schedule commitments.
- Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Education & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor's degree (4- or 5-year) in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States.
- Relevant experience in electrical engineering, including multidisciplinary project execution.
Preferred:
- Extensive experience leading engineering projects within industrial, utility, energy, or infrastructure markets.
- Experience supporting procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while performing engineering and design work.
- Ability to frequently use a computer, keyboard, and standard office equipment.
- Ability to review technical drawings, calculations, and engineering documentation.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel to client offices, project sites, and construction locations as required.
- Ability to walk active construction sites, climb stairs or ladders when necessary, and safely perform field inspections.
