Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.

Our Airborne RF Electronics Design Department has an immediate need for a Principal Electrical Engineer to provide senior‑level radar/RF hardware leadership across production, system integration, and sustainment environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep hands‑on CCA/LRA hardware expertise, strong radar/RF engineering proficiency, and demonstrated ability to lead complex investigations and mentor technical teams.

This role is critical to maintaining technical rigor, ensuring hardware performance through production, and strengthening execution across a diverse radar hardware portfolio. The position requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams, suppliers, and leadership, and includes periodic travel to Forest, MS in support of production troubleshooting and supplier engagement. The role resides within the Surveillance & Tactical Radar Support section supporting Terrain Following Radar (TFR) products at Raytheon’s McKinney, TX facility.

What You Will Do:
  • Serve as a senior Radar/RF hardware technical leader, providing authoritative direction across production, system integration, and sustainment activities.
  • Lead tough hardware investigations, driving thorough root‑cause resolution and safeguarding hardware performance, reliability, and readiness for production.
  • Perform hands‑on CCA/LRA test, troubleshooting, and production support, including updates to test procedures and support for engineering change notices (ECNs). Travel to Forest, MS as required.
  • Shape and influence engineering requirements, specifications, and design improvements—internally and with suppliers—to maintain requirement integrity and mitigate technical risk.

  • 8+ years of experience in radar systems/RF engineering
  • Experience with CCA- and LRA‑level electrical hardware design and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with updating test procedures and managing ECNs.
  • Experience with leading independent investigations and resolving difficult technical challenges
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance post-start is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience producing RF hardware including AESA arrays or radar subsystems.
  • Broad technical background supporting multi‑disciplinary hardware teams.
  • Experience with hardware design, analysis, and subsystem testing in lab environments.
  • Familiarity with PRISM, SAP, CMES, or other Agile engineering tools.
