Job summary

Motion Recruitment Partners is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer for its R&D team in the US. The role includes design and analysis of electrical systems, PCB/subsystem development, and regulatory reviews for medical devices. Onsite 4 days/week with 1 day remote.

You will work in cross-functional teams on capital and disposable devices, troubleshoot PCB failures, and contribute to device risk and opportunity assessments. Salary range is $150,000–$190,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• 8+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience
• Experience in the medical device industry or similar
• Hands-on with schematic design tools (Altium preferred)
• Deep familiarity with test equipment (oscilloscopes, LCR meters, logic analyzers, power supplies)
• Extensive knowledge in analog/digital circuit design, PCB design, and manufacturing processes
• Experience with sensor integration, FPGAs/CPLDs, and microcontrollers
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve PCB failures
• Knowledge of RF energy generation and control
• Understanding of IEC 60601 regulatory standards
• Strategic thinking and ability to evaluate product risks and opportunities
• Ability to bridge hardware/software engineering teams

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering

• 8+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience

• Previous experience in the medical device industry or similar

• Hands-on expertise with schematic design tools (Altium preferred)

• Deep familiarity with common electrical test and development equipment (oscilloscopes, LCR meters, logic analyzers, power supplies)
