Job summary

Proclinical Group is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead embedded electronic systems development in the Greater Boston area. This senior, hands-on role combines technical leadership with mentoring a small team of engineers across the full product lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in electrical engineering, strong PCB/embedded design background, and experience with client-facing discussions, continuous improvement, and formal engineering processes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• Strong background in embedded systems and electronics design.
• PCB design experience, preferably using Altium.
• Experience with microcontrollers and embedded hardware platforms.
• Knowledge of SPI, I2C, UART, CAN and Ethernet.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Experience with structured engineering and documentation processes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable engaging directly with clients and external partners.

Responsibilities

Proclinical is working with an innovative technology company to recruit for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join its engineering team. This is a senior, hands-on position that combines technical leadership with the opportunity to mentor and guide a small team of engineers.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of advanced electronic and embedded systems, working across the full product development lifecycle from concept through delivery.

Skills & Requirements:

• 7+ years of electrical engineering experience
• Strong background in embedded systems and electronics design
• PCB design experience, preferably using Altium
• Strong understanding of digital and analog circuit design
• Experience with microcontrollers and embedded hardware platforms
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, and Ethernet
