Job summary

Gulf Interstate Engineering in Houston, TX is seeking a Principal Electrical/Instrumentation Designer to lead complex electrical and I&C drafting efforts on multi-discipline projects. You will produce One-Line Diagrams, E/I plans, wiring and schematic diagrams using AutoCAD and related CAD tools, and mentor CAD operators while ensuring compliance with codes and standards.

Essential Functions

• Perform complex designs and layouts of One line Diagrams, E/I Plans, Sections & Details, Wiring Diagrams and Schematic Diagrams utilizing CAD hardware and software.
• Train and direct CAD Operators and Designers, as required.

Requirements

Qualifications

• 10 or more years of design experience in a drafting environment developing One-Line Diagrams, Electrical/Instrument plans, sections and details, schematics diagrams and wiring diagrams.
• Minimum of 5 years of CAD experience, including 3D Design
• Working knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards.
• Latest versions of AutoCAD.

Education

• High school diploma. Associate's degree or certification from technical trade school preferred.
