Job summary

Gulf Interstate Engineering in Houston, TX is seeking a Sr. Electrical/Instrumentation Designer (mid-level) to perform detailed design activities within the Electrical/Instrumentation discipline.

The role focuses on creating One-Line Diagrams, E/I Plans, wiring and schematic diagrams using CAD tools and reviewing vendor drawings. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in drafting, strong CAD experience (including 3D) and knowledge of codes and industry standards.

The Senior Electrical/Instrumentation Designer (mid-level) is responsible for performing detail design activities within the Electrical/Instrumentation discipline.

Essential Functions

• Perform complex designs and layouts of One-Line Diagrams, E/I Plans, Sections & Details, Wiring Diagrams and Schematic Diagrams utilizing CAD hardware and software.
• Review vendor drawings and other documents.

Requirements

• 5 or more years of design experience in a drafting environment developing One Line Diagrams, Electrical/Instrument plans, sections and details, schematics diagrams and wiring diagrams.
• Minimum of 5 years of CAD experience, including 3D Design.
• Working knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards.
• AutoCAD 2016.

Education

High school diploma. Associate's degree or certification from technical trade school preferred.
