Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks multiple Principal Electrical Components Engineer or Sr Principal Electrical Components Engineers in Woodland Hills, CA. Roles support several programs with a potential relocation package.

Responsibilities include selecting EEEE components, creating specs, leading qualifications, and coordinating with design, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure part integrity and program success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relative experience; Master's with 3+ years; PhD + 1 year
• Ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher
• Experience in military/space electronics design or manufacturing
• Familiar with selection and application of EEEE components
• Experience developing component data/drawings and selecting EEEE parts to meet program objectives
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools
• U.S. Citizenship
• Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. DoD Secret clearance

Responsibilities

• Work with design engineers in selection and application of Electrical, Electronics, Electro-Mechanical, Electro-Optical parts
• Create Component Specifications or Source Control Documents to meet Program Requirements
• Lead and conduct qualifications of new EEEE components for use in new designs
• Work with manufacturing and component vendors to resolve qualification and test issues
• Manage BOM and part data in a Product Lifecycle Management System
• Support Supply Chain with procurement requirements and supplier selection
• Tailor EEEE Part requirements to system/subsystem specifications
• Support Subcontractors with EEEE part requirements interpretation
• Perform BOM analysis and generate Engineering Changes for EEE requests
• Support derating analyses for part/system consistency
• Drive EEE parts risk management including obsolescence and lifecycle constraints
