Pearson Carter is recruiting a Principal Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer to join a growing BC specialist. You will shape the technical direction, stay hands-on with AL development, extensions and integrations, and lead complex BC solutions while mentoring a team of 7 developers.

Working closely with the Engineering Manager, you will drive engineering standards, promote AI-assisted development, and collaborate with stakeholders across the business.

Principal Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer – £95,000 – Fully Remote UK

Pearson Carter are currently working with a growing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central specialist to recruit a Principal Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer.

You’ll join a team of 7 developers and play a key role in shaping the technical direction of their Business Central platform. This is a hands‑on position combining strong Business Central development experience with AI development capabilities, alongside mentoring and technical leadership.

You’ll work closely with the Engineering Manager to support the wider development team, improve engineering standards and help drive the continued evolution of the Business Central platform.

They offer up to £95,000, fully remote working, excellent benefits and the opportunity to gain further certifications and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Help shape the technical direction of the Business Central platform.
• Remain hands‑on with AL development, extensions, customisations and integrations.
• Lead the development of complex Business Central solutions.
• Support the Engineering Manager with coaching and mentoring across the team of 7 developers.
• Lead technical discussions and provide guidance on complex development challenges.
• Establish and maintain development standards and best practices.
• Support integrations across APIs, web services, Dataverse and Power Platform.
• Improve development processes, testing, CI/CD and ALM.
• Identify and resolve technical and performance issues.
• Apply AI and AI-assisted development tools to improve development quality and productivity.
• Help establish best practices around AI and agentic development.
• Work with technical and non‑technical stakeholders across the business.

Experience

• Strong experience as a Lead, Principal or Senior Business Central Developer.
• Extensive hands‑on AL development experience.
• Strong Business Central Finance experience is essential.
• Experience across the wider Business Central module suite would be highly beneficial.
• Proven experience delivering complex Business Central solutions.
• Strong knowledge of Business Central extensions and integrations.
• Commercial experience with AI development or AI-assisted development is essential.
• Experience with AI coding tools, Copilots or agentic development.
• Previous experience mentoring or supporting other developers.
• Good understanding of development standards, testing and CI/CD.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.

Desirable

• Previous experience working for a Microsoft Partner.
• MB-820 or another relevant Microsoft certification.
• Experience across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Warehousing, Projects or Jobs.
• Power Platform, Dataverse or Azure experience.
• Experience within an ISV or product‑led Business Central environment.
