Pearson Carter is recruiting a Principal D365 Business Central Developer to shape the technical direction of its BC practice. You will be an senior individual contributor, hands-on with AL development and architecture, while setting engineering standards.

You’ll work with the Chief Architect to drive BC extensions, integrations and CI/CD, mentoring developers and guiding complex deployments. This role is remote in the UK.

Qualifications

• Deep AL and D365 Business Central development experience.
• Strong understanding of the BC extension model and underlying platform.
• Proven experience delivering complex BC solutions into production.
• Strong integration experience across APIs, Dataverse and Power Platform.
• Strong ALM experience including source control, automated testing and CI/CD.
• Experience across BC SaaS and ideally on-premises.
• Good understanding of Finance, Supply Chain and Manufacturing.
• Experience mentoring developers and setting technical standards.
• Strong architecture, technical design and problem solving skills.

Principal D365 Business Central Developer - £95k

Pearson Carter is working with a growing international Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Partner looking for a Principal Developer to help shape the technical direction of its Business Central practice. This is a senior individual-contributor role combining hands-on AL development, solution architecture, technical leadership and engineering standards.

THE ROLE

You’ll work alongside the Chief Architect to set the technical direction for Business Central solutions, while remaining hands-on with complex development and delivery.

Key responsibilities:

• Act as a technical design authority for D365 Business Central solutions
• Lead the design and delivery of complex BC extensions and customisations
• Define architecture across Business Central, integrations, Dataverse and Power Platform
• Establish and improve coding, testing, branching and release standards
• Drive ALM, source control and CI/CD through Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
• Lead technical design reviews and mentor Business Central Developers
• Support complex customer engagements, enterprise opportunities and pre‑sales
• Drive performance, observability, security and operational resilience
• Lead technical responses to incidents, root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Help shape the responsible adoption of AI and agentic development across the engineering team

THE CANDIDATE

We’re looking for someone with:

• Deep, demonstrable AL and D365 Business Central development experience
• Strong understanding of the Business Central extension model and underlying platform
• Proven experience designing and delivering complex BC solutions into production
• Strong integration experience across APIs, web services, Dataverse and Power Platform
• Strong ALM experience including source control, automated testing and CI/CD
• Experience across Business Central SaaS and ideally on‑premises
• Good understanding of Finance, Supply Chain and Manufacturing
• Experience mentoring developers and setting technical standards
• Strong architecture, technical design and problem‑solving skills

Experience with MB‑820, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Power BI, ISV/product‑led development and agentic/AI‑assisted development would be advantageous.
