Job summary

Northern Trust seeks a Principal Cyber Security Engineer to lead secure enablement and strategy for data protection engineering. You will own DLP, encryption data protection, and external data transfer controls, driving automation and governance across security programs.

You will guide DAM initiatives, oversee the Symantec exit to Microsoft Purview, and partner with Privacy, Compliance, and Risk stakeholders to align enterprise requirements.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Cyber Security, Data Protection Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Experience in highly regulated enterprise environments is preferred.
• Experience leading large-scale DLP platform migrations or policy redesigns is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision and control strategy for DLP and encryption data protection.
• Lead secure enablement and control oversight for DLP engineering and external data transfer controls.
• Drive automation of exception handling and governance workflows.
• Lead the redesign and optimization of Zscaler data protection and security policies.
• Provide direction for Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) initiatives.
