Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Principal Digital Forensics Examiner to support the DIA/NDOC mission at a Bethesda, MD site. Lead forensic teams, drive program goals, and ensure high-quality examinations and reporting while maintaining TS/SCI clearance with poly.

The role requires extensive experience in computer forensics, DOMEX, and intelligence analysis, plus strong project management and stakeholder communication skills. Onsite engagement is mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM required with 12 years of experience.
  • 10+ years in technically related roles; MS degree can substitute 5 years.
  • Certifications in digital forensics (EnCE/ACE/CCE/GIAC) preferred.
  • Experience in computer forensics, DOMEX and intelligence analysis.
  • Proven project management and requirements documentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent instructional and written communications abilities.
  • Must maintain TS/SCI with poly and be able to work onsite in Bethesda, MD.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the NDOC Government Lead to maintain a detailed work plan with tasks, milestones, and schedules.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to set program goals and track performance metrics.
  • Define expectations for examiners and manage staffing pipelines.
  • Stay current with emerging forensics capabilities and design training plans.
  • Bridge non-technical management with technical forensics requirements and personnel.
  • Oversee examinations and complex analyses, including preservation, acquisition, processing, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with digital forensics standards and procedures.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance throughout the process.
  • Develop and present clear case notes and findings to government stakeholders.

Job Description

The Leidos Intelligence Sector is seeking a Principal Digital Forensics Examiner to support the DIA/NDOC mission. This position will be located at our customer site in Bethesda, MD.

Responsibilities Include
  • Work with the NDOC Government Lead to create and maintain a detailed work plan to include specific tasks, assignments, task dependencies, milestones, and schedule for processing direct forensic and non-forensic data collections
  • Work with senior leadership to establish and implement program goals and provide key performance metrics to establish a strategic baseline
  • Establish clear expectations and goals to drive and evaluate forensic examiner work products
  • Build and maintain qualified, full-time staff and a pipeline or surge staff according to customer and mission priorities
  • Maintain awareness of emerging capabilities and technologies, and create relevant training plans to ensure continue mission accomplishment
  • Act as a bridge for the complex gap between the non-technical functions of management and the technical requirements of a computer forensics mission and its personnel
  • Oversee personnel performing forensic examinations and and complex analysis to include preservation, acquisition, processing, analysis, and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with digital forensics standards, policies, and procedures
  • Provide consultation, training, assistance and mentorship throughout the digital forensics process
  • Identify techniques, processes, and procedures to enhance the growth and maturity of the NDOC forensics program
  • Develop and present oral and written communications to include clear and comprehensive case notes and findings and presentations to government stakeholders
Principal Digital Forensics Examiner Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or STEM discipline and 12 years of experience.
  • At least 10 years of related technical and project management experience (can substitute for 5 years’ experience with a Master of Science degree in Computer Science or STEM discipline)
  • Industry standard forensics certification (e.g., EnCE, ACE, CCE, GIAC)
  • Experience conducting Computer Forensics, DOMEX, and Intelligence Analysis
  • Experience in Project Management and requirements documentation
  • Experience in planning and forecasting resource needs?? This is a mistake, rewrite that line
  • Experience requiring strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Experience requiring strong instructional and communications skills
  • Must be able to maintain TS/SCI Clearance with poly
  • Must be able to work in Bethesda, MD
Principal Digital Forensics Examiner Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in hardware configuration and network/data communications
  • Experience with software engineering and scripting
  • Experience with law enforcement evidence seizure
  • Experience conducting intelligence analysis and writing finished intelligence reporting

Pay Range

Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
